Location Based Services

GSI Labs continues in the forefront of location based services (LBS) with the industry standard IS-801 protocol being offered to customers. This analysis with our other leading monitoring capabilities continues to keep us in the forefront of the telecom industry and ahead of the competition.

EASySniffer

The EASySniffer is a server application that connects to the SS7 network via a switched router or hub. It listens to (but does not remove) SS7 data on the private LAN. It then stores, reformats and sends the SS7 data to all connected EASyViewer clients in real time. EasyViewer clients connect to the EASySniffer using TCP/IP.

Features	Benefits
Non-obtrusive for data integrity	The EASySniffer reads TCP/IP packets off of a private network. It does not remove the packet from the link. It simply takes a copy of it for processing.
Easy Port Selection	Once the application is executed, the user selects the IP Port based on stream of data they wish to monitor. The user then presses one button to start the collection process.
Interface Cards	The EASySniffer typically executes on hardware that includes multiple (2 or more) LAN interface cards. One is used for the private network, and one or more are used for public network(s).
Multi-Threaded for Increase Performance	The EASySniffer is a multi-threaded program that takes advantage of concurrent and parallel thread execution to increase system performance.
Dozens of Real Time Connections	The number of real time connections is limited only by the performance of the system. The EASySniffer will spawn a new thread for each client that connects in real time.
EASySniffer Files	An EASySniffer file is created when data packets are read from the private network. A new file is written after the current file exceeds approximately 1MB of data. This function executes in its own thread.
Archival via Zip	EASySniffer comes bundled with the EASyExpress. This is a companion application that is used to configure the EASyServer. It also has options for archiving files (using the Zip file format).
Variety of Protocols	The EASy family supports the following SS7 and IP based protocols: ANSI ISUP, AIN 0.1, All IS-41 Versions, GSM MAP Phase II and III, A-Interface (BSSAP, BSSAP+ and DTAP), Abis; E-911 (E2, E5 etc..), Sigtran, SMPP v3.3 and v3.4, SIP, IS-801 Note: Custom development is also available upon request.
